Does kissing wife invalidate one’s Wudoo’ or Sawm (fast) ?

Question 91It is reported in an authentic Hadeeth that ‘Aa’ishah, the Mother of the Believers (may Allaah be pleased with her), said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) got up at times in a state of Janaabah (major ritual impurity). It is also reported that he (peace be upon him) kissed one of his wives after performing Wudoo’ (ablution) then he offered Salaah (prayer) and this took place during the month of Ramadaan. My question is: How may the Prophet (peace be upon him) get up at the morning in a state of Janaabah when he had to lead the Muslims in the congregational Prayer at dawn? Does the Hadeeth indicate that he (peace be upon him) had intercourse after offering Fajr (Dawn) Prayer? Does kissing one’s wife nullify Wudoo’? Some scholars say that it is one of the annulments of Wudoo’, although the Prophet (peace be upon him) kissed his wives after performing Wudoo’ then offered Salaah without repeating Wudoo’? What is the ruling in this regard, may Allaah reward you!

Answer: All praise be to Allaah Alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, and his family and Companions! First, the Prophet (peace be upon him) had intercourse with one of his wives at night, and sometimes he did not take Ghusl (ritual bath) at night, and when he woke up he used to make Ghusl before dawn to offer Fajr Salaah read more here.
