Can marriage proposals be rejected due to possessed by Jinn?

Question 361: I have had many marriage proposals, but none have succeeded. People tell me that I am possessed by Jinn (creatures created from fire) and bewitched. Is this true? How can I undo this spell, or possession? It may be worth mentioning that I suffer from spasms when I become angry, and I sometimes have nightmares.

Answer: You must beware of the whisperings that Satan makes to cause grief to the believers. You have also to perform your Islaamic duties of `Ibaadah (worship) as commanded by Allaah. You should increase your Du`a’ (supplication), Dikr (Remembrance of Allaah), Qur’aan recitation, and read the Adkaar (invocations and remembrances said at certain times on a regular basis) after the obligatory Salaahs (Prayers) especially Fajr (Dawn), Maghrib (Sunset), and `Ishaa’ (Night) Prayers. You may also visit a person who treats using Ruqyah (reciting Qur’aan and transmitted supplications over the sick as a cure), hopefully Allaah will cure you. In addition, you can recite frequently: A`oodu Bi-kalimaat-illaahi Al-tammati Min Sharri Maa Khalaq (I seek refuge with the Perfect Words of Allaah from the evil of what He has created) in the morning and at night. Also, recite Aayat-ul-Kursee (the Qur’aanic Verse of Allaah’s Chair, Soorah Al-Baqarah, 2:255) after every obligatory Salaah (Prayer) and when you go to bed. Finally, you can recite the Soorahs (Qur’aanic chapters) of Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): “He is Allaah, (the) One. , Say: “I seek refuge with (Allaah), the Lord of the daybreak, , and Say: “I seek refuge with (Allaah) the Lord of mankind, after you perform every obligatory Salaah, and repeat the three Soorahs thrice after Fajr (Dawn) and Maghrib (Sunset) Prayers. Reciting all these will remove all things that hurt you, In-shaa’-Allaah (if Allaah wills)... read more here.
