Is it right that the Noble Qur’aan was revealed in seven Ahruf ?

Answer: Yes, it is right that the Glorious Qur’aan was revealed in seven Ahruf. It was authentically reported on the authority of `Umar ibn Al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Verily, this Qur’aan has been revealed in seven Ahruf, so recite it in the way that is easiest for you. (Related by Imaam Ahmad, Al-Bukhaaree, Muslim, Aboo Daawood, Al-Nasaa’ee and Al-Tirmidee) There are many Hadeeths related in this regard through different chains of transmissions and with different wording. Giving a Mus-haf to a Kaafir who recently embraced Islaam

Question 77: One of my non-Muslim workers has converted to Islaam. A few hours later, he asked for a Mus-haf (copy of the Qur’aan) and a translation to read. After a few days, he asked to go and perform `Umrah (lesser pilgrimage). Should I let him touch the Mus-haf and travel to Allaah’s Sacred Land, or wait a year or more until he becomes a true Muslim, and I am sure that has sincerely embraced Islaam?

Answer: If you are sure concerning his Islaam, it is permissible for you to give him a Mus-haf to read and accompany him to perform Hajj or `Umrah. You will be rewarded for this, In-shaa’ Allaah (if Allaah wills). Is it permissible to sell a copy of the Qur’aan to disbelievers?

Question 76: As you know, we have a special place reserved for bookshops where religious and literary books are sold. During this period, the sales of the Noble Qur’aan to members of the American army have increased. Is it permissible to sell the Book of Allaah to those people despite the fact that around 99% of them are non-Muslims. When I asked them why they purchased the Qur’aan, some of them said they bought it for their Muslim friends in the USA while others took it as a souvenir. I hope you will tell me whether it is permissible to sell the Book of Allaah to them or not. Answer me, may Allaah benefit you.

Answer: It is not permissible to sell a Mus-haf (copy of the Qur’aan) to Kaafirs (disbelievers). It was authentically reported on the authority of `Abdullaah ibn `Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) forbade traveling with (a copy of the) Qur’aan to the land of the enemy. According to another narration, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: That is out of fear that the enemy will get hold of it [and tamper with it]. According to another narration, he (peace be upon him) said: I am afraid that it might fall into the hands of the enemy [and they tamper with it].... read more here.

Can non-Muslims be given a copy of the translation of the meanings of the Qur’aan?

Question 75: Is it permissible to give a non-Muslim who is interested in Islaam, but has not yet embraced it, a copy of the translation of the meanings of the Noble Qur’aan along with a copy of the entire Qur’aan such as those published at the King Fahd Qur’aan Printing Complex?
