Hemorrhoid patients who cannot perform Istinjaa’

Question 171A person suffers external hemorrhoids and bleeding and cannot perform Istinjaa’ (cleansing the private parts with water after urination or defecation), so he only performs Istijmaar (cleansing the private parts with a hard material after urination or defecation) with pebbles. Is it permissible to perform Istijmaar with pebbles despite the presence of traces of blood after performing Wudoo’ (ablution), or should he perform Tayammum (dry ablution with clean earth)?

Answer: It is permissible to perform Istijmaar with pure pebbles and the like provided that they are clean and can purify the opening of the anus like dry tissues.
