Khutbah of 1402 A.H.

Al-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaah wa barakaatuh (May Allaah’s Peace, Mercy, and Blessings be upon you!)

All praise is due to Allaah. We seek His Help and Forgiveness. We also seek refuge with Him from the evils in ourselves and from our misdeeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides, none can misguide and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, none can guide. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger.

To proceed:

O people, O Muslims, I exhort you to have Taqwah and to fear Allaah (Exalted be He) as He should be feared. Fear your Lord as He is the One deserving that mankind should be afraid of Him and He is the One Who forgives (sins). Be righteous with Allaah (Exalted be He), abide by His Commands, avoid His Prohibitions, and protect yourselves against His Punishment by showing obedience and avoiding disobedience. O Servants of Allaah, fear Allaah and know that He is Well-Aware of what you say or do openly and what you say, do, or entertain secretly. He is Well-Aware of all your conditions. Fear Him (Glorified be He), for Taqwah is the pride of life and the happiness of the Hereafter. O Servants of Allaah, fear your Lord in all of your affairs and know that you will be called into account in His Presence and your deeds are meticulously counted.
